Ear Infection; 2nd session at Topanga

So I joined a few friends at Topanga on Wednesday night. Was okay - still a lot of people. I saw a few guys get some super long rights.

The bad news is I have another ear infection. The worse news is my surfer's ear is getting worse. Apparently on a scale of 1 to 10 it's a 7. I have to figure out a way to keep it from getting worse.

My doctor says that I have to wear ear protection all the time now.

Man, do pro surfers go through the same thing? It kind of sucks.

yo - my name is chris berlin and I surf the south side of the pier every morning...

the ear shit sucks...I have been plagued with bad ears since I was a kid. I used to be a competitive swimmer and the swimmers ear was always painful.

I had forgotten how bad it was - I started surfing on christmas day about a year and a half ago and surf every day - almost immediately the swimmers ear came back.

I tried all the different plugs to no avail, I also didn't like having something in my ears.

what has worked stellar for me is something called Auradry.

It is basically a rubbing alcohol solution. the minute I get out of the ocean I put 5 drops in each ear and let it sink in for a second. then just flip the ear over and let the solution drain.
the alcohol solution helps to evaporate any water that is left in your ear and surfing in the toxic waters of venice - the alcohol keeps your ears clean.

you need to be relentless with the ear drops every time you get out of the ocean and guaranteed your problem will stop hurting.

hope this helps
